1st eROSA Stakeholder Workshop (6-7 July, 2017)
Community building and mapping of the research infrastructures
for agro-food research
6th & 7th July 2017 – Montpellier SupAgro, France
The workshop is the first of a series of three stakeholder workshops under e-ROSA, the first one focusing on where we stand today, the second one on what is our vision for the future, and the third one on how we can achieve it.
This first workshop will bring together scientific communities and existing data-related infrastructures and initiatives that can support researchers throughout the data management cycle in the context of their research activities. It will consist of a stock-taking event that seeks to improve the knowledge on the current landscape of existing research infrastructures and e-infrastructures, networks, initiatives and policies that are relevant for a future overarching e-infrastructure in agriculture.
In particular, it will cover all data-related services that such an e-infrastructure should offer, including data storage, interoperability, integration, discovery, processing, analysis and valorisation. Dedicated sessions will give the opportunity to existing research infrastructures and initiatives to explain how they contribute to providing these services and to present their vision of an e-infrastructure for Open Science. As a result, the workshop will facilitate an initial community building process around the issue of Open Data and Big Data in agriculture and food.
